I agree, but it should be with the provision of some sort of organizational system (folders, pages, etc.) so it doesn't get out of hand.
I haven't skilled into any suits or any weapons (saving SP since May respec for new content), and I still run out of fittings. |

Also worth considering how easily officer weapons can multiply fittings.
We don't get more 1-3 of these as a reward per match. This is by CCP's design.
So, officer weapon fittings will by necessity be only good for a few uses, and can clutter up your fittings.
Really, many rewards we receive are limited in quantity and will generate limited numbers of fittings in our list. CCP even directly sells fittings straight out, which are of no use to us as items integrated into our current framework, but rather server as completely separate fits to try out.
We could use some folders and a higher cap. For great justice. |

Stuff like this seems to lose traction after the feedback rush from a new update. |

I've had to delete fittings constantly since 1.4 released to be able to make new suits... what a pain. |

CLONE117 wrote:i like this idea but im concerned how this would be implemented..such as would it take longer to select a fitting like when switching to a different fit from the supply depot such and such.. i kinda think the limit should be uped to around 60 or so fittings for my future fittings...
Yeah, this is also a concern. There's a certain amount of "lag" when going through suits already, and there's no way to "select" what suit you're going to start a match with. The first match of the day will always put you in your "default", but you'll be in whatever you ran last after that with no way to switch without exiting the game (possibly logging out).
So, we're always saddled with having to pan through our suits looking for the right one. People that bothered to reset and favorite some opening suit for a PC battle have an advantage compared to people struggling with a list of suits. Speed is huge in this game: speed to spawn, speed to call in a vehicle, speed to hack. The slow person doesn't get an overwatch on that building, and that fast person has effectively swung the balance in favor of their team for their match.
So, there's cross-purposes here:
1. We have an inconvenient system for selecting suits prior to battle that requires exiting the game (or logging out) if it's not your first match. 2. The speed with which you can start your deployment (select a suit, etc.) can be a large factor in having an advantage in more competitive matches. 3. The current list format of suits can be slow to navigate, with cursor lag as you go through the suits. 4. A larger list could possibly compound the above problem, and so any solution would hopefully both expand slots AND allow for efficient organization AND load quickly. 5. As you accumulate a large amount of SP (and spend Aurum) odds are you can easily have a variety of suits with well-defined purposes that you'd want to be able to field. This number is often much larger than 30. You're liable to have multiple AV fittings for different situations (swarms, not-swarms), and any given fit will likely have cheap/free, STD, ADV, and PRO versions so you can field the right level of gear for the situation. The lack of more than 30 slots means you have to delete/remake fittings constantly.
Something to keep in mind. We all march towards proto gear, but at the same time the items you release in Merc packs, etc. are STD level. We need more space if you want us to pay money for these other suits, because we don't really have room for all of them now. |
